This wasn’t really planned- I was just scribbling out the biggest leaf and this is just what happened. I guess it’s a Kumquat…?

Decided to follow up my galaxy print project with something floral- chose my design, elaborated on it and tested it with a mist-like background to make a small (5cm x 4cm) tile print.

Working with watercolour on canvas was fun with florals, so I decided to try out something celestial (during my break from floral trials!).
It came out really colourful- so I tried to contrast it by using black stars. I actually kind of like it, surprisingly enough.

A personal recreation of Claude Monet’s ‘Sunset in Venice‘ for a Visual Communication and Design class in early 2011 for an imaginary company (for which I chose ‘showmethemonet’- a play on words with the company logo, based around an American bill but with Monet as the subject matter).
